Year 7 students have shown the imaginative capacities by designing and creating gargoyle clay tiles for their walls.
Primary school outreach work
As part of being a teaching school, the art teachers often go into primary schools sharing exciting techniques for primary art co-ordinators to use in their planning.
This fun three week painting project resulted in lovely canvases to go on the walls for display. Well done to the students!

NSEAD skills event
This week we hosted an inset for art teachers across the UK to develop skills in wire work. This is the first of two artist led workshops and members of our alliance schools, NSEAD members and other link art teachers learned new techniques in wire sculpture from artist Celia Smith. The department is working in collaboration with NSEAD to provide more exciting workshops that we hope to see feed back into classrooms.
The next event will involve paper sculpture!
