Year 7 classes have been looking at colour, collaging and animals this term, using the inspiration from Mark Herald… The detailed cutting and linear mark-making is fantastic.

These examples of Y7 artist research studies from their colourful landscapes unit are fantastic! Using a range of materials (what every they can get their hands on), they have created such bright and joyful pieces, an antidote to lockdown!
We are delighted with these examples of such good tone, shading, observation and attention to detail from these students in Year 7 and 8.. More to come….
Fiona Grady is a contemporary artist that works with vibrant colour and geometric shapes. She often works with vinyl directly onto glass windows. Today Fiona worked with some Year 7 students, showing them her technique in making vinyl art works.
Two classes of Y7 enjoyed looking at the work of ten screen printing artists on exhibition near school. They heard about the artists’ interest in experimentation, colour and process. Next week, they have an exciting workshop from one of the exhibiting artists.
Thanks for showing us around Bonnie and Daisy

Year 7 classes were printing their poly board prints today, only the first layer, but impressive mark-making.
Year 7 and 8 have been painting winter and Christmas scenes by the Howard de Walden Estate Christmas Card competitions. There are some very well painted and drawn entries, these are some highlights. Very well done!
This year 7 class finished their fruits by painting them with 4 different colours of underglaze. They were then coated in a clear glaze and fired. They look fab!
