Ideas for over the summer..

Have you thought about buying an old book from a charity shop and using the pages as a surface to your art work. You could even use the words to inspire the images that you choose to draw or paint.

This example is from one of the teachers… just to give you an idea!

Edgware Road Project

The students have made headway into creating the final pieces for this years big exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery. The have been looking at the local area, plans for regeneration and responding to a variety questions through the medium of art.

They will meet again as a group in September with members of the artist collective ‘Ultra-Red’ to prepare for the opening of the show and the exciting events being coordinated for the first weekend.

Year 7 Cross-Curricular Event

The English and Art teams join together annually to explore greek myths. Their outcomes are performance based and their creations serve as props, masks or scenery. This year their artworks were blown up to a huge scale on screen to provide a moving background to their drama piece.

Edgware Road Project

Students from Years 10 -12 have spent two weeks at the Centre of Possible Studies with Artist Collective members from ‘Ultra-Red’ looking at the city, its history, the plans for its future and the impact… Each study is developed by the students and is centred around life for young people in the city.

As a response to their findings on regeneration, research and city development, the students made a film, this was shown in exhibition at the centre of possible studies tonight.
